Flatley Brothers Boxing Club was born out of a desire to give back to the community. Professional super welterweight boxer Jack Flatley - with 21 wins in 26 professional fights and 77 amateur bouts - wanted a place of his own after seven years of coaching out of other people's gyms.
"My brother and I always spoke about it and it's really nice to be able to work together." Jack runs the gym alongside his brother Kieran, a professional boxing coach. Together they opened Flatley Brothers Boxing in Edgworth for adults and children alike.
Jack started boxing when he was just 10 years old. In 2016 he graduated in sociology, proving that boxers are more than just athletes. "I was not always a confident kid, but boxing helped me develop that and I became healthier." That belief drives everything at the gym — boxing is a tool for building confidence, discipline, and a better life.

Kieran has been coaching since 2018 and gained his professional licence after following Jack into the ring in 2012 at just 12 years old, going on to fight some of the best in the country. He specialises in making boxing accessible - breaking down technique into simple steps and building confidence from the very first session. Kieran heads up the junior programme and runs the female-only classes, helping to create a positive environment for the next generation. "We want to pass our knowledge down to young people and give them a positive environment to be in."
